On Tuesday 27 October, Depowise and PwC Luxembourg will look at where fund growth is heading and why servicing capacity now so often decides which depositary wins the mandate.
Date: Tuesday 27 October 2026
Time: 10:00 CET (09:00 in Dublin and London)
Format: Live online session on Zoom, with a live Q&A
Speakers: Frank Becker, Head of Pre-Sales and Solution Engineering, Depowise, and Philippe Belche, Partner, PwC Luxembourg

The private assets fund market is as full of opportunity as it is of competition. Every provider needs to keep evolving, by building an operating model that can scale efficiently and, where possible, offering new services. The depositary is often seen as the cost of doing business in Luxembourg, but it can add real value to the relationship with an asset manager. It rarely wins a mandate on its own, but a strong offering can be what sets a provider apart.
Semi-liquid and evergreen private market funds, including ELTIFs and Part II UCIs, are one of the fastest-growing parts of the market. They are also a real challenge for asset service providers, because they sit between the operating model built for liquid funds and the one built for private markets, and fit neither cleanly. A depositary that cannot service them has to turn the business away. The cost is more than the lost fee: it opens the door for a competitor to build a relationship with its client.
About the session
This is the first public webinar Depowise has hosted, and we wanted it to be a conversation about the market rather than about our platform, which is why there is no product demonstration in this session. Depowise will speak to the operational side: what happens inside a depositary when a mixed or semi-liquid fund arrives, and what separates the institutions that scale well from the ones that struggle. PwC Luxembourg will set out where growth is going by fund structure and by domicile, and how depositaries are positioning themselves to capture it.
What we will cover
- Where the growth is going, across semi-liquid and evergreen vehicles, ELTIFs, private credit and Part II UCIs
- How depositaries are positioning themselves, and what buyers evaluate when they select one
- Why supervisory readiness decides which fund types an institution can take on
- What onboarding time costs, and where mixed funds cause the most difficulty
- What the depositaries that scale well do differently
The session ends with a live Q&A with Frank and Philippe.
